Empty Nesting

My youngest daughter Claire is going to move out in a couple of weeks and I’ll have an empty nest for the first time.

Funnily enough, she has chosen this ink and colored pencil drawing to take for her house warming/blessing gift-  it’s her favorite.

It’s based on an old Chine proverb that says, ”

“You cannot prevent the birds of sadness from passing over your head, but you can prevent them making a nest in your hair”

or from perching under your dress! 🙂
